Premiere: James Hype delivers sizzling house remix of Claptone’s ‘Beautiful’
James Hype came buzzing out of the UK’s house music scene and quickly climbed the ranks building out a profile as a force to be reckoned with. With about half a billion cumulative global streams, Hype earned his status via esteemed remixes for the likes of Bruno Mars, Joel Curry, Meduza, and more, in addition to singles “Afraid” featuring HARLEE, and more through his latest signing with The Cross Records and Island Records UK.
His latest rendition was gifted to Claptone for the masked producer’s track “Beautiful,” the ninth single from his third studio album Closer. Hype adds some signature deep synths, and a musky, techno-driven bass-line that feels primed for any dark warehouse endeavors. Hype offered an exclusive quote for Dancing Astronaut on the remix:
“For me, the original record felt like a summer day vibe, with Lau.ra’s floaty vocal. So for my remix I wanted to make a night time version, bringing the pace and energy up for the dance floor, adding in some more aggressive sounds and my heavy beat for good measure. Glad to say it’s gone off in both mine and Claptone’s sets!”
This remix is featured alongside edits from French Disco mastermind Monkey Safari, and Murmur Tooth & Lars Moston, all out now via Different Recordings. Claptone fans will likely hear some of the compositions at his Encore Beach Club and XS at Wynn Vegas residencies this summer, in addition to other appearances at Palm Tree Festival and more.
