On May 2, Brooklyn Mirage shared a teaser on its socials that seemed to have hinted at some sort of renovations being done ahead of its 2022 season-opening date just 72 hours later. But no one could’ve predicted Brooklyn Mirage’s bombshell reveal nearly a day out from its first of two evenings with Alesso, with Avant Gardner sharing renderings and behind-the-scenes details of the complete overhaul that took place over the past few months within its outdoor section.

As if anyone needed more convincing as to where to spend the 2022 summer, Brooklyn Mirage spared no expense in its transformation. When attendees step into the venue on May 5, a 200-foot-wide, 30-foot-tall video board—with more than 1,000 LED panels that will display a combination of 30 million pixels in 15K ultra-wide resolution—that spans the entire front half of Brooklyn Mirage will be there to greet them. The video wall will allow for artists to have more creative freedom production wise comparative to most venues, with a “custom-built media server and its processing technology” being at artist team’s fingertips. A 100-foot, custom-built roof—designed by HEINI—will also serve as a new addition in tandem with the video wall, which creates a “floating effect as a result of its modular spaceframe system” and is the “first fully domestically fabricated stage of its kind.”
