The SEXPAYS alias, sketched and shaded across “LOVE” and “BANGBANG,” continues to take shape with “CLUBKILLER9000,” the enigmatic producer’s third career single. House-facing in its four-on-the-floor rhythmic arrangement, “CLUBKILLER9000” is a dance floor dominator threaded with old-school house flair and tied with a nearly seven-minute ribbon. Ebbing and flowing with ease, SEXPAYS’ latest is a more mellow counterpart to the nu-disco drip of March’s “BANGBANG.” Though the musical mind behind the SEXPAYS project remains a mystery, with each production, its sound comes further into focus to bespeak skill in the house and nu-disco genres fitted to the modern era.
