‘The Drake remixes you were looking for’—Wax Motif flips four ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ inclusions

Four Honestly, Nevermind inclusions have been set in Wax and while you know how sticky it gets, this quartet of edits is clean and full of finesse.

Following the June 17 revelation of Drake’s seventh studio album, Wax Motif “heard a clubbier version” of “‘Tie That Binds’ in [his] head.” He set out to the studio to play the role of translator. A little over 48 hours later, Wax Motif’s vision had vaulted out of the confines of his mind and into “Tie That Binds (Wax Motif Ibiza Remix)”—oh, and three other Honestly, Nevermind conversions.

The fluid ebb and flow of Wax Motif’s Egyptian-Cotton-soft take on “Tie That Binds” dovetails with the underground lean of his “Massive” and “Keeper” remixes, not to mention the bumping beat work that he lays on “Sticky.” Emblems of Wax Motif’s evergreen ingenuity, his four spins are “for the streets,” he says, and indeed, the four-pack can be downloaded for free here.
