TSHA’s debut album is coming to Ninja Tune—stream its lead single
With everything from an Essential Mix to a Fabric Presents compilation to a collaboration with Diplo and a headlining United States tour, it’s safe to say that TSHA rise over the past two years has been nothing short of arresting. Now, the leading English star, named a Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2021, has announced her debut album Capricorn Sun.
“Naming the album Capricorn Sun was a good way of saying, ‘this is me,'” TSHA said. “It’s a theme that carries through the album’s creative and artwork, which features several pygmy goats that are a visual representation of the different parts of me, like the songs on the album represent different parts of me.”
Capricorn Sun is pinned for an October 7 release via Ninja Tune, but thankfully, the LP’s announcement comes in tandem with its lead single. “Giving Up,” fuses the old with the new; through commanding breakbeats and what seems like analog-inspired processing, listeners are treated to a gutshot of nostalgic rave bliss, their spirits later lifted to the modern club through modern synthwork.
