GRiZ unveils first solo outing since 2021’s ‘Rainbow Brain’ LP, ‘Feel No Pain’

Hot off the heels of his Electric Forest headline set in June, bass figurehead and saxophonist extraordinaire, GRiZ, has given fans even more to get excited about with his latest delivery, “Feel No Pain.” Unleashing his unique blend of funk and dub, the Michigan-native samples the iconic line, “one good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain,” originally from Bob Marley‘s “Trenchtown Rock,” and most famously interpolated on Dead Prez’ 2000 hit, “Hip Hop,” making for yet another groovy, euphoric output. Speaking on his new track with an admirable levity, GRiZ tells fans,

“It’s a summertime dubby banger with some fun funky sax and a line from one of my favorite hip-hop songs of all time, originally sampled by Bob Marley. Hopefully it inspires a feeling of easing the pain of all of the BS we’re going through as a country right now. Here’s a moment for you to dance and find some joy.”

“Feel No Pain” is GRiZ’s first original solo output following the 2021 release of his album Rainbow Brain, and more recently a collaboration with Big Gigantic on “Open Your Mind,” plus a joint with CloZee on “Color Of Your Soul.” For more GRiZ movements this year, stay tuned for updates on the return of “GRiZMAS In July” and GRiZ’s first-ever outdoor camping experience Triple Rainbow.
