STAR SEED make Ophelia Records return on ‘Alone’ with Aaron Shirk, PSYB3R, and Meggie York
On the heels of their remix for Nurko‘s “Spinnin’ Wheels,” STAR SEED are officially back on Dancing Astronaut‘s Label of the Year in 2021, Ophelia Records. “Alone” features a pair of label newcomers in Aaron Shirk and PSYB3R and brings Meggie York back to the label–who also reunites with STAR SEED for a towering sixth time—to serve as the lead single from Ophelia Records’ fifth installment of their bi-annual rising artist compilation, Advent.
Having also led Ophelia Records’ sophomore compilation back in 2020, STAR SEED return to do so three editions later, serving four and a half minutes of soaring melodic bass, gripping psytrance, and sublime vocals from York that all come together to be a perfect fit on the Seven Lions-led label. Ophelia Presents: Advent Volume V is set to feature 14 artists across eight tracks that span experimental dubstep, psytrance and melodic dance. Abandoned, Aaron Shirk, and ROY KNOX make their label debuts with both MEDZ and Quackson joining STAR SEED as returning Ophelia Records artists. The compilation also welcomes female dubstep producers MADGRRL and Dino Shadix, experimental Japanese artist Allen Mock and trap-wave act, Modus.
STAR SEED are staring down a double barrel of festival dates in the form of Breakaway Ohio and Insomniac‘s Lost In Dreams festival in Las Vegas over the next two months. Dancing Astronaut‘s Artists to Watch in 2022 continue to bolster their catalogue with “Alone” joining eight other high-profile releases this year like “Sky” on MrSuicideSheep’s found/red imprint and their official remix for The Chainsmokers‘ “High“. The new single is their second release on Ophelia Records this year following January’s Digital Forest EP. Listen to “Alone” below.
