‘Satisfaction’ turns 20 with modern rework from David Guetta, Benny Benassi

It could be said that David Guetta and Benny Benassi joining forces to rework “Satisfaction” puts the iconic track back at the forefront of the scene, but the honest truth is that it never really left.

Originally released in 2002, Benny Benassi’s “Satisfaction” is the rare club track that has stood the test of time. On one hand, “Satisfaction” has earned its spot on any and every clubbing compilation from the early ’00s on, but what gives the genre-defining electro tune its unique and respected patina is how it has transcended the club, being adopted by niche cultures worldwide.

The new release, out now via Spinnin’ Records, takes the stance of not fixing what isn’t broken. Guetta and Benassi pay true homage to the veteran Italian selector’s electro original, reinvigorating it for the modern club with reimagined drops and Guetta’s signature Future Rave flair. Discussing the new joint release, Benny Benassi shared,

“I’ve known David for over 20 years. I remember I would get messages from resident DJs in Ibiza who heard David playing Satisfaction at Pacha two decades ago! So he was definitely one of the very first supporters of the original version. And when he played me his initial idea for this new version, I totally loved it. He’s made it current again, it’s very Ibiza with a really great intro and it’s perfect for today’s DJ sets.”

A classic reborn from two of dance music’s finest, “Satisfaction” by David Guetta and Benny Benassi is out now. Celebrate 20 years of “Satisfaction” by streaming the new single below.
