Good Morning Mix: Matisse & Sadko make ID-filled debut on Tomorrowland mainstage

Matisse & Sadko finding themselves on the Tomorrowland mainstage was undoubtedly long overdue. While the attention may have been locked in on their long-awaited appearance with DubVision on the STMPD RCRDS stage during the third weekend, the brothers made their way to Boom for the very first day of Tomorrowland’s first edition in three years. And despite a technical mishap within the first twenty minutes, their entire set was recorded, with the video beginning around the 22-minute mark

The progressive kings didn’t take the opportunity for granted, with them exclusively telling Dancing Astronaut that their main intention was to use the hour-long set as a platform to showcase their own music—both new and old—considering Tomorrowland was the ideal place to do just that. And out of the 23 tracks that Matisse & Sadko powered through on July 15, just about every single one had their name attached, even including co-productions. The set encapsulated the sheer greatness of Matisse & Sadko, venturing across their entire timeline and into all stylistic corners, including several of their beloved Martin Garrix pairings, iconic mashups like “Strings Again” with “Set Fire To The Rain,” and a finale that included their newest single, “Me Without Us” with Raiden and Justin Jesso.

But in between all of that came about 10 unidentified tracks that currently belong to them, six of which they’d been simultaneously wrapping up in the week leading up to Tomorrowland. Matisse & Sadko also exclusively confirmed to Dancing Astronaut that two of them are collaborations with Raiden and two of them are with “other artists, but [we’ll] never guess who they are.” Another ID—paired with Adele’s “Easy On Me”—may be familiar from Martin Garrix’s weekend two set and another ID—paired with a-ha’s “Take On Me”—would go on to soundtrack the end of their back-to-back with DubVision. As for the unreleased music that wasn’t included, the duo confirms that their Audien collaboration—while it is actually happening—wasn’t included in the set and that a “mainstage version” of “Feeling” with Timofey exists.
