Rïa Mehta recruits Cathy Rocher for hypnotic melodic techno outing
Rïa Mehta has steadily risen in melodic-techno circles of late, picking up support from esteemed industry fixtures such as BLOND:ISH, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Nora En Pure, and Gorgon City while attaining multiple Beatport Top 10s. Mehta’s latest outing, the highly synth-textured, climactic “Alone,” underscores why all ears are on her.
The rousing record toggles between elements of earlier and comparatively more modern melodic-techno. Says Mehta, “When Dit Klingt Jut reached out, they were specific about what they wanted: a melodic techno track with a nostalgic feelIng. I had just finished watching Stranger Things, so when I started the track, I knew I wanted it to have old-school elements, but I also wanted to keep it modern. The main melody of the track feels like something you would hear in one of the chase scenes of the show, and the breakdown keeps it modern.”
“Alone” sources its piercing topline from featured vocalist Cathy Rocher, whose intoxicating contribution adds a touch of mystique to the titillating track.
