Step into NGHTMRE’s ‘DRMVRSE’
With DRMVRSE, NGHTMRE invites listeners to step into another dimension of his artistry—and it’s his most cerebral one yet. His debut LP is guided by a defining narrative: a neurotech company’s-discovery of a sonic frequency called “Unsound” that serves as the conduit to other physical planes of existence collectively known as the “DRMVRSE.” The concept album marries Sci-Fi with multi-genre translation: future bass, trap, bass, and even drum ‘n’ bass. There’s a clear musicality to DRMVRSE that’s not always found in the bass domain, conferring a sense of novelty to the already-novel project.
“I’ve wanted to write an album like this for my entire career! I’m really excited to have had the time to put this much thought and effort into all the details of the album and creating something with a ‘Hero’s Journey’ storyline. DRMVRSE and the upcoming tour and live show are the next step up for all things NGHTMRE. I can’t explain how excited I am to share it with everyone,” NGHTMRE said.
DRMVRSE‘s narrative arc is aided by appearances from a diverse cast of collaborators, including Dylan Matthew, Zeds Dead, Virtual Riot, Oliver Tree, KLAXX, Tori Levett, Marlhy, IDK, and UPSAHL. The project, led by “Fall Into Me,” “Trials,” and “The One,” vaults into the live setting via its supporting DRMVRSE tour, with upcoming dates across major cities like Chicago, following past stops at Red Rocks Amphitheater and The Brooklyn Mirage.
