OCULA continues auspicious entry to Monstercat on ‘Renaissance’ with Luke Coulson

Between a flurry of laudable appearances on labels that have included This Never Happened, PRGRSSN Records, Anjunabeats, OCULA has found himself a permanent home. OCULA had tested the Monstercat waters just before the summer ended and “Try Me” dotted the i’s and crossed the label t’s shortly thereafter. Now, the British talent is potentially lining up his first extended outing since Crossroad, teaming up with Luke Coulson for “Renaissance,” which appears packaged together with “Try Me” on streaming platforms.

With “Renaissance”—the EP’s title track—OCULA continues to maintain his level of consistency in the wake of his debut album from back in May, which included a pair of reworks for both Le Youth and Armin van Buuren. OCULA confessed that he gradually began to mistrust his “ability to write powerful, moodier songs that reflect the times where [he finds himself] in a negative headspace, but want to transcribe those feelings into music.” But OCULA took the name “Renaissance” to heart, bringing forth an outright resurgence of his unassailable melodic house directive as Coulson blissfully pilots the track forward on a more than auspicious label entry. Those looking to witness his debut Monstercat singles as well as Crossroad are able to see OCULA live on a handful of dates during his first-ever North American run this. November.
