Axis 217: Mixed by Alok

Brazilian legend Alok released an explosive pair of singles Thanksgiving week, treating listeners to a smattering of edits of his latest hits. It was quite the event to see him team up with renowned DJ/producer Sigala and beloved vocalist Ellie Goulding on “All By Myself.” Notably, Alok is the first to clear a sample of Depeche Mode‘s “Enjoy The Silence,” and he ably handles it, giving it a dance-floor ready club mix. The second release is an Arabic take on his collaboration “Headlights” with Alan Walker, which elists Jordanian musician Issam Alnajjar for the updated hook.

Alok has produced global hits and dance pop anthems alike featuring superstars like Tove Lo, Jason Derulo, John Legend, and more. He instantly climbed the ranks after his chart-topping remix of MEDUZA‘s “Piece of Your Heart” and has churned out crowd pleasers ever since, all while staying busy with his Controversia imprint.

The DJ/producer certainly demonstrates his talent for danceability in Dancing Astronaut‘s latest episode of AXIS featuring 60 minutes of Alok-fueled gems. He kicks things off with “All By Myself,” throwing in recent festival staples like Tiesto and Charli XCX‘s “Hot In It” and Joel Corry‘s “Lionheart (Fearless).” Fans will recognize his original track “Always Feel Like” mixed in with some darker house music from FISHER, Claptone, and more.
