Chris Lake adds his flair to KH’s ‘Looking At Your Pager’

Admittedly, it can be difficult to keep up with Four Tet and his slew of genre-frenetic of aliases. One of the easier projects to conceptualize, KH (initials for Four Tet’s name, Kieran Hebden), has enlisted the talents of arguably the hottest name—and one of the most enduring—in house music, Chris Lake. Joining the likes of Solomun and CLIPZ, Lake has added his special touch to KH’s September single “Looking At Your Pager,” Hebden’s second single under the KH alias. The original track borrows from the early 2000s staple “No More” from R&B mega-girl group 3LW.

Coming off his electric ode to the infamous Coachella stage, “In The Yuma,” Lake continues his roll of relentless tech-house slammers with his latest remix, which had been accidentally revealed during his Twitch livestream a week earlier. Known for his alternative style residing on the vanguard of dance music, Four Tet has received immense support for “Looking At Your Pager” from Fred Again…, Skrillex, Peggy Gou, and more. Lake brings a deeper flare to the track, by adding a repetitive filter to the bars. But when the bassline takes over, it’s curtains for Lake’s listeners. An essential in his sets as of late, stream Chris Lake’s remix of “Looking At Your Pager.”
