warner case’s range is on full display on nimble new EP, dance music for dancing, vol. 3.’

There’s dance music, and then there’s dance music for dancing. The latter provides the namesake for warner case’s compilation series of the same name, now in its third volume.

“This EP is really exciting for me since it spans a large range of the types of music I like to make. There’s vibier stuff, heavier stuff…but only good stuff that makes me wanna dance. The songs represent years of demos, some of which I only recently figured out how to finish, and some of which seemed to finish themselves instantly,” the New York-based classical percussionist said of dance music for dancing, vol. 3.

Indeed, there are many shades of case’s artistry on display on this third installment, which invites appearances from a short guest list: Carl Chaste, Vin Damato, and Just Because. On the largely solo EP, case flaunts his ear for percussive arrangements that lend themselves to body work, unique sample usage, basslines with it factor, and ear-catching beat work.

Led by “up up in my mind,” “bee’s knees,” “let me know,” and “show you how i feel,” dance music for dancing, vol. 3. compellingly confirms warner case’s status as one of the dance scene’s most innovative minds.
