Martin Garrix to launch music academy for rising artists at STMPD Studios in 2023
On top of his role as the boss of one of dance music’s preeminent labels, Martin Garrix is taking things a step further with the launch of his own music academy. In partnership with JBL, the STMPD RCRDS head will head back home to Amsterdam immediately following Ultra’s 2023 iteration for a four-day event from March 28 – 31 at the STMPD Studios.
40 deserving artists—including producers, singers, and songwriters—will have an opportunity to be the academy’s debut class of students where they’ll learn about everything from production itself—including writing, mixing, and mastering tracks—to the branding side–including “building your PR, socials, and visual identity”—to the business side of the music industry, which will walk through “managing bookings, distribution and legal affairs.” Garrix himself as well as “inspiring industry speakers” will also host a series of masterclasses for the academy’s students.
Applications run from December 1 all the way until January 27, 2023 and can be submitted here.
