Kasablanca convert ABGT500 ID into Anjunabeats single, ‘Am I Dreaming?’
With melodic techno on the rise, that upward boom is undoubtedly extending itself into 2023. Kasablanca‘s first release of 2023 is a prime example of that, with Anjunabeats assisting the duo into converting their ID from Above & Beyond’s milestone ABGT500 set in 2022—also appearing in Lane 8’s Fall 2022 Mixtape—into a fully realized release. Having already collaborated with the likes of Lane 8 and Bob Moses, the duo is continually racking up more and more due credit, with their latest outing potentially being their most notable thus far.
After garnering attention back in 2020, Kasablanca made their Anjunabeats debut more than a year later in December 2021, reworking Above & Beyond‘s “Black Room Boy” as part of the 10 Years of Group Therapy anniversary festivities. “Am I Dreaming” keeps the duo’s longstanding relationship with Anjunabeats going, coming as a hybrid that falls somewhere in the middle of melodic techno and progressive house. A track that’s simply made for a club set and a sunset drive, Kasablanca’s melodic touch begs the question “Am I Dreaming?” Stream it below.
