One of Dancing Astronaut‘s Breakout Artists of 2022 is starting off 2023 with a bang. Named after his string of live shows—which helped build his and ISOxo‘s breakout case—Knock2‘s ROOM202 EP is set for arrival on NIGHTMODE on January 27 and he’s surrendering one of Dancing Astronaut‘s most-anticipated IDs of the year as listeners’ first glimpse of what’s to come later in the month. And that EP-leading preview is Knock2’s high-energy set opener “Make U SWEAT!”

Perfectly titled “Make U SWEAT!,” it’s remained Knock2’s intro ID going all the way to his debut headline show at Los Angeles’ The Catwalk. The Brownies & Lemonade-hosted show was named ROOM202 and peeled back the curtains on what for the San Diego superstar had in the works. And it’s truly everything that listeners have come to know and love about his music, with Knock2 serving up bass house with a retro-induced flair that will make those either experiencing it live or listening at home quite literally break a sweat.

Knock2’s upcoming EP is the highly anticipated successor to his 2HEARTs EP that he put out independently back when he was a Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2021. The EP was later remixed by breakout artist counterpart as part of their Sable Valley-backed niteharts EP. But his newest original sees him reunite once again with NIGHTMODE, the label that was behind “dashstar*” as well several other hits like “PARANOiD” and “gettin’ hott.” If that wasn’t enough from the San Diego Waterboy less than two weeks into the year, he also announced his debut headlining tour in conjunction with the EP, featuring nine stops including Chicago, Las Vegas, Brooklyn, Denver and Atlanta.
