Manic Focus delivers forthcoming debut LP’s lead single, ‘You Do You’

“I wanted to return to the blues-electronic style I was experimenting with in 2013, which led to this tune. I love combining classic blues sounds with modern synth elements!” That was how Manic Focus set the stage for his forthcoming debut album. Currently without an undisclosed arrival date, “Never Not Blue” will be Manic Focus‘s first-ever full-length project later this year, and its lead single “You Do You” is the tracklist’s maiden piece to arrive.

Returning to the blues-inflected electronic style of his earlier work, Manic Focus adapts his original music identity to suit the lavish, opulent style that’s he’s currently made his own. Meshing blues melodies with dubstep and hip-hop stylizations, Manic Focus spectacularly showcases a production versatility, effortlessly blending acoustic guitars, blues-like keyboard progressions, a soulful vocal sample, and more blues staples into the track. And it all culminates into a strident, powerful dubstep climax that embraces the freedom behind Manic Focus’s vision.

In itself, Manic Focus’s album is a career retrospective, paying homage to where he came from while acknowledging how far he’s come since his humble beginnings over a decade ago. As he enters a new era of the project, his approach continues to evolve, constantly incorporating new ideas in regards to genres, composition, songwriting, and more. With the exhaustive LP soon to come, this new chapter in Manic Focus’s progression as an artist will be fully realized in 2023.
