SG Lewis, Charlotte Day Wilson, and Channel Tres convene for febrile final single from ‘AudioLust & HigherLove,’ ‘Fever Dreamer’

SG Lewis‘ disco sensibilities are supple and soul-stoking on “Fever Dreamer,” the last AudioLust & HigherLove preview ahead of the LP’s January 27 arrival via Astralwerks. On the lucid single, Lewis sweats it out alongside featured artists Charlotte Day Wilson and Channel Tres, the latter of whom is memorable for his presence on “Impact,” from SG Lewis’ debut studio album, times. Indeed, “Oh SG, we back at it again,” Tres muses at the outro to “Fever Dreamer.”

From Wilson’s rousing hook to Channel Tres’ velvet baritone to Lewis’ billowing production, marked by climactic builds that seem to mimic the spike of a fever, “Fever Dreamer” is evidence that this trio intimately understands the science of a groove. And much like the slumber of its titular referent, “Fever Dreamer”—a song “about all-consuming admiration for someone,” says Lewis—makes a lasting impression.
