Tiësto starts the new year on a high with ‘Lay Low’
In 2023, Tiësto has wasted no time in attracting listeners to the dance floor. Out now via Musical Freedom, his new single, “Lay Low,” is his first release of 2023 and follows his New Year’s Eve VIP Remix of “10:35” with Tate McRae. A rolling, deep bassline (customary of a Tiësto single) provides the framework for the track, accented with echoing, choir-like vocal trappings. In a credit to Tiësto’s evergreen ability to craft danceable, sing-a-long house tunes, “Lay Low” toes the lines between pop, deep house, and slap house in his characteristically club-facing fashion. Visually, “Lay Low” extends the look and feel of the artwork for his last few singles, further stoking the fires of anticipation as the time leading up to his seventh studio album, Drive (due February 24), dwindles. Poised to be a staple in his Las Vegas club sets, “Lay Low” starts off 2023 with a bang.
