Hardwell, Will Sparks unlock EP door number two with long-awaited ID, ‘Twisted’

Six consecutive weeks of new Hardwell music is well underway. The Revealed Recordings boss made the call that for his first sequence of non-Rebels Never Die originals, it was going be what just about everyone was wishing for: a slew of his highly requested collaborations from 2022’s coinciding tour for Dancing Astronaut‘s 2022 Album of the Year. And after unlocking the first of six EP doors exactly a week prior—”Balança” with VINNE—Hardwell has formally dropped the curtain on what sits behind door number two, with “Twisted” alongside Will Sparks registering a green release light.

“Twisted” sat amongst a number of never-before-heard IDs when Hardwell made his first in-person appearance following his hiatus-shattering emergence at Bayfront Park that happened exactly two months earlier. But it wasn’t until Hardwell made his way to Croatia that his first-ever crossover with Will Sparks—originally paired with the “Titanium” acapella—made its worldwide unveiling considering the Ultra Europe livestream. We’d already gotten a glimpse into what a Will Sparks appearance on Revealed was going to look like, with “HARD” landing in November of 2022. And two of the names sitting at the height of the bigroom-techno push were well aware that a one-two production punch would make for a momentous occasion, amounting to what’s debatably remained Hardwell’s single most elusive ID in the time following Ultra’s homecoming. The outcome is the epitome of what’s driven the genre crossbred exponentially upward across the past calendar, sampling Greg, Jeroenski, & Roog’s 2007 classic “Your Mind Is Twisted” and resulting in a heart-pumping powerhouse of bigroom-techno that’s going to melt down Bayfront Park if it receives the opportunity come March 25.

With two ID keys having been turned thus far in back-to-back weeks, it’s only a matter of time before the remaining four are deciphered, with one of his two Olly James collaborations, a reunion with Quintino, “Revolution” with Maddix and Timmy Trumpet, and “Judgement Day” with Sub Zero Project officially confirmed to fill the coming releasee slots.
