Consistently blurring the lines between house and indie-dance music, Phantoms‘ Kyle Kalplan and Vinnie Pergola enter 2023 with “The Way You Groove.” Now streaming via ODESZA‘s Foreign Family Collective, the funk-fueled new offering precedes the Los Angeles electronic duo’s forthcoming deluxe edition of their sophomore album, This Can’t Be Everything, released last August. “‘The Way You Groove’ is meant to literally just be a groover,” Phantoms explained in a press release, “sort of your inner-voice talking out loud as you watch someone you’re attracted to dancing. We toyed with the idea of adding more vocals to it, but we loved just repeating the main line over and over again and adding harmonies. It’s actually Vinnie himself singing on this number.” 

“The Way You Groove” arrives on the heels of a six-week headlining tour run; Phantoms had initially debuted This Can’t Be Everything at Life Is Beautiful 2022. As Kalplan and Pergola prepare for the release of the album’s deluxe installment, stream “The Way You Groove” below.
