Habstrakt and Malaa send up explosive ‘Molotov’

Two of bass house’s best have reconnected for “Molotov,” an unforgiving new single that will kick off Habstrakt‘s album rollout. Teaming up with Malaa, “Molotov” marks the second collaboration between the two French DJs, following “Riot Gear” from 2020. Slated for a March release, Habstrakt’s forthcoming album has been years in-the-making and precedes his HERITAGE Tour. Starting in Philadelphia in late March, Habstrakt will play 13 American dates over the span of two months.

True to its title, an incendiary and spirited cut, “Molotov” draws Russian influence while maintaining the true spirit of French bass house. Decieving the ears with a mellow and simplistic intro, Habstrakt and Malaa fire up the drums and ignite the serrated synths—akin to those found in DJ Snake and Malaa’s “Ring the Alarm.” As Malaa sets to embark on a monumental Coachella performance, “Molotov” will provide the perpetually masked menace with the perfect weapon to invigorate his tracklist.
