KLOUD returns for first release in over a year with EP ‘BLACK’

The KLOUD project has long been shrouded in secrecy. The masked artist added yet another chapter to their story this past year. After releasing a brooding four-track EP ‘INFECTED’ in December 2021, the anonymous producer stepped away from the release radar in 2022 leaving the anticipation for their upcoming release at all-time highs. Fans finally have the answer to what the next sonic chapter in the KLOUD story holds with the release of four-track EP, BLACK.

BLACK is not just new music, but signals a new beginning for KLOUD. The rollout to the Lowly.-backed EP centered around the lifting of the helmet, and an unveiling of a face. Since the project began in 2019, KLOUD has become synonymous with autonomy. In a 2021 post to social media, KLOUD said “I don’t want the fame. I don’t want the fake friends. I want my art to transcend myself and for you to attach to a character that mirrors yourself.” In 2023, that character is evolving but the autonomy remains. Out with the helmet and into an evolution that is synonymous with their vision, musically and visually.

Over the course of four-tracks, BLACK sees KLOUD take a deep dive into the world of techno. Past releases by the Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2021 have heavily been inspired by house and techno but were often fused with electro-pop elements. Now, techno takes center stage on an EP that shows off a refined sound for the boundary-pushing producer. Listen to the beginning of a new era of KLOUD below.
