Lunchbox adapts to prominence of clear bag policies with launch of clear hydration pack, snack pack

With the launch of Lunchbox‘s clear hydration pack and snack pack, the question for event-goers becomes one not of whether to use a wearable pack from the manufacturer, established in December 2018, but rather where to take one.

In response to the increasing prominence of clear bag policies at live events across the nation comes Lunchbox’s clear hydration pack and clear snack pack. The clear bags extend Lunchbox’s early tradition of comfortable, easy to use, security-approved, and theft-proof products while offering event-goers an accessible alternative to the market’s clear bag options. It’s worth noting that existing choices of clear bags are often not durable; tears, punctures, scratches, and scuffs mar the look of the clear bags while leaving the contents vulnerable to loss or theft. These aspects contribute to the disposability of currently available clear bags, requiring repeat purchases as the bags land in landfills around the world.

As clear bag policies continue to be implemented at events of various kinds and scales, Lunchbox saw an opportunity to translate its patented water refill system and anti-theft design to the clear product setting to enhance the experience of attending events, according to Lunchbox CEO and founder, Tom Worcester.

“We’re event attendees first, and designers second. Lunchbox was built with the belief that live events could be better, and should be better. It may seem like little thing that ruins an event – a lost phone, a trip to the medical tent, a bag denied at security – but when you think about how important and prized our core memories are, it’s the little things that make or break our experiences,” Worcester told Dancing Astronaut. “Our community…has rallied around shared values of love of music, togetherness, acceptance…but we were falling short in one category: clear bag policies. We were protecting experiences in all of these different areas, until we weren’t. Our drive to build clear stems from our responsibility to help protect experiences, all types of experiences, not just at the festivals our packs were allowed into. With this launch, we hope to protect a greater degree of fan experiences, allow people to connect to new friends, and anchor memories meant to meant to last a lifetime.”

Lunchbox’s clear line is ideal for those who attend various events each year, from general music events at festivals, arenas, clubs, and other venues to sporting events and other occasions where wearable packs would be useful (i.e., vacations, hikes, and trips to the beach). In a credit to Lunchbox’s comprehensive and forward-thinking approach to crafting wearable packs fit for a new generation of ravers subject to more restrictive bag policies than in past years of event operation, users can personalize the clear packs with skins that can be inserted after they’ve completed security checkpoints. Lunchbox’s clear hydration packs also come with small electroluminescent (EL) wire loops, allowing event-goers to weave the company’s lightshow wires over the exterior of their packs. These features increases the versatility of the packs while supporting self-expression (and, not to mention, making it all the easier to spot your friends in a crowd).

As with Lunchbox’s existing packs, the two new clear options are outfitted with a theft-proof pocket, locking zippers, and an inverted pocket structure that protect against pickpockets, as well as Lunchbox’s easy hydration system, which does not require attendees to remove the hydration bladder to refill it. The clear hydration pack retails for $109 and the clear snack pack for $45. Skins, lightshow wires, and other accessories are sold separately and can be viewed on Lunchbox’s website.

Dancing Astronaut will be taking Lunchbox’s brand new clear hydration pack and clear snack pack to Ultra Music Festival later this month; stay tuned for our review of the wearable bags’ performance at the festival.
