Pauline Herr reaches Sable Valley release trifecta with ‘JSYK’

One of Dancing Astronaut‘s Artists to Watch in 2022 is having herself a massive start to 2023. And after a stint at EDC Mexico, “JSYK” now lengthens Pauline Herr‘s streak of releases on RL Grime‘s Sable Valley. It’s her third straight round on the label and all three have come as unaccompanied production efforts from the multi-talented artist. Herr explained on Twitter that she “went out of [her] comfort zone a bit” on the second drop that features a fusion of both wave and drum ‘n’ bass.

Pauline Herr’s string of three consecutive release cycles on Sable Valley might just be the sign of something more, with a tease on her socials that she “might have to do something with all of these.” That all began with the release of her first-ever standalone Sable Valley original “Let You Go,” which was followed up by the smooth bass cut titled “Violet.” And on “JSYK,” Herr leans back into that more traditional trap sound long-time listeners of the genre’s preeminent label have come to know and love it for. It’s a record ready made for massive festival stages, and she put that to the test when she let it loose south of the border at EDC Mexico’s kineticFIELD for the first time in the week leading up to its release.
