Portugal. The Man taps Chris Lake for house rework of ‘Dummy’

“I’ve been doing a remix in B Minor. I don’t like working in B Minor. It’s doing my head in. Getting the low end to hit the way I feel it should, just isn’t happening!” When Chris Lake tweeted that out back in February, it left many to wonder which track that exactly referred to. And now we know, with the Black Book Records boss inducing an unexpected spin on Portugal. The Man‘s new rock single, “Dummy.”

Marking his first remix since tackling KH‘s “Looking at Your Pager” in late 2022—and following the long-awaited delivery of his “Deceiver” VIP—Lake’s up-tempo, bass-thumping version of “Dummy” is no exception to his string of high-quality undertakings. Creating a high-energy cut that still maintains the essence and core of the original, Lake’s remix of “Dummy” opens up a new stream for house heads and rock fans alike, delivering sing-a-long vocals over a bassline that’s guaranteed to be festival weapon-approved in the coming months.
