On the cusp of their Saturday evening performance at Coachella, Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern have freshened up Sofi Tukker‘s globally esteemed catalog. For their latest, they’ve turned in an official “ST Mix” of their recent Kx5 (comprised of Kaskade and deadmau5) collaboration, “Sacrifice.” The mau5trap offering’s auxiliary mix arrives two months after Kx5 presented the original recording, which landed as an early-release single leading up to the “Escape” supergroup’s self-titled debut album.
In relation to its predecessor, “Sacrifice – ST Mix” evokes less acidic, more atmospherically resonant sound design. The update serves a necessary purpose, materializing as a sonically divergent reproduction of the massively successful original.
