Midnight Kids announces ‘The Long Way Home,’ shares debut album’s lead single with Jack Newsome

A full-length Midnight Kids album is on the horizon. Exactly three years after The Lost Youth—the then-duo’s debut EP—had been realized, Kyle Girard is officially primed to welcome this next era of the project. And he’d been teasing a long-form outing of sorts was in the works, considering 2022 held a closer focus on remix efforts, with “Keep It Complicated” as his lone original on the board. And after he wiped his Instagram slate clean towards the end of May, many reasonably assumed that long-awaited album was officially ready to go, with Midnight Kids now delivering the lead single from The Long Way Home with Jack Newsome, “All Nighter.”

Arriving through Seeking Blue, “All Nighter” wholeheartedly epitomizes everything that’s made the Midnight Kids project as musically invaluable as its consistently remained throughout the years, anchoring his elated, summer-angled production feel with a nostalgia-esque vocal from Newsome. And “All Nighter” already sets a towering bar for what’s to come from The Long Way Home, with Midnight Kids adding that he hopes “listening to song take in every second you have with your favorite people and make it last a lifetime. Moments like that are so important and are what make life worth living.” Stream the first preview of The Long Way Home below.
