Smoakland have started the countdown to their sophomore album STAY IN YOUR LANE with its lead single “That’s What I’m Talking About,” which is out now via Left Coast Records. The album draws inspiration from the duo’s experiences during their recent “Liquid Smoak” tour, and “That’s What I’m Talking About” provides a glimpse into the album’s themes of self-belief, rebellion and challenging societal norms. Being the lead single, the track paves the way for highly anticipated collaborations and forward-thinking pieces, and promises a blend of hip-hop-infused dubstep beats.

Speaking on the “That’s What I’m Talking About,” both Harry and Anthony of Smoakland chimed on the track, with Anthony reflecting on its message, saying,

“All our lives we’ve been told what we’re supposed to do and make. Parents tried to structure me; they wanted something else for me. I always fought against the grain.”

“That’s What I’m Talking About” offers a sneak peak into the duo’s largest body of work to date, and sets the state for an exhilarating sophomore album. The project is only being five years old, started in 2018 and quickly achieving popularity. The duo has quickly risen to prominence in the scene, with their 2022 Electric Forest debut captivating 15,000 attendees, and is among countless mesmerizing sets since. After supporting Zeds Dead at Deadrocks IX, the duo is now gearing up for a gargantuan 40-plus date Stay In Your Lane headline tour. With Smoakland’s name drawing inspiration from their love of cannabis culture, the duo revealed that their “entire days and music revolve around it.” “That’s What I’m Talking About” hints at much to come, and paves the way for an exciting album arriving in the near future.
