Afusic’s vocal, Talwiinder’s verse, and Ali Soomro’s production stacked 500 million-plus streams and chart positions across Pakistan, India, and well beyond, largely on the strength of a hook that soundtracked every heartbreak edit on Reels.
Sickick’s official remix keeps the original vocal front and center and rebuilds everything under it. The Canadian producer known for his mask and for the “Frozen” rework that broke him globally brings Afro-leaning drums, more atmosphere, and the darker electronic sound he’s spent his career on.
Sickick grew up around Bollywood music and says the combination of electronic production, Afro drums, and South Asian vocals is something he hadn’t heard done before.
He said his goal was to honor the original while making something that works on a dance floor.
He succeeded.
