Summer isn’t over yet for Amy Correa Bell’s ‘Like Water’

Summer isn’t done yet, at least not according to Amy Correa Bell. The San Fernando Valley singer returns with “Like Water,” her second release of the season, and it’s built for the part of the night when the sets get longer and nobody wants to leave.

Beat Ventriloquists handle production, weaving synth lines through heavy dance percussion. Co-producer Les Les adds extra weight to the low end, and Correa Bell’s lyrics move easily over the top of it all. The track plays like a beach party after dark, with lights and sound blending into the waves and sand, then carrying you through the water and out toward sunrise.

The visual matches that feeling. Correa Bell skipped a big concept and filmed in the place she’s from. “I didn’t want a big video concept for this. I wanted to strip it all the way down and shoot it where I’m from, because that’s where the real feeling lives. Just me, the song, and my hometown. If you’ve never seen me perform live, this is the closest thing to it,” she said.
