Alex Metric and Aeroplane form new supergroup, Metroplane, with debut single, ‘Mr. E’

Dance music is no stranger to supergroups. From Duck Sauce to Jack Ü to New World Punx to Green Velvet, it’s always exciting for fans to see two of their favorite artists join forces and develop a new project. The latest superduo to emerge is Metroplane: the brainchild of OWSLA house maverick, Alex Metric, and Belgian nu-disco savant, Aeroplane.

The pair’s first output, “Mr. E,” is an impressive synthesis of the two producers’ distinct sounds and styles. While the core of the track is built upon Aeroplane’s famed disco grooves and vintage synths, Alex Metric splashes his techier, edgier tones and sharp drum racks to yield a product that is equally infectious as it is matured. With two of dance music’s most reputable names re-entering with a revamped project, fans from all over the house spectrum should be excited to see exactly what style Metroplane will embody as the project develops.
