In celebration of reaching 100,000 Facebook fans, Hot Creations co-head and Chicago native Lee Foss shared a free download with fans in the form of "U Make Me Shy," a track he "made a few years ago but decided to hold on to" until now. It's not bridging any genres or recruiting sex kitten vocalists like some of his other work may have, but its variations in production, quirky mix outs, and bass lines give it enough weight to comfortably stand in Lee's catalog as a sign of his growing fanbase and possibly even crossover success.
Four Tet names details on new ‘Beautiful Rewind’ LP, declares ‘no last minute Rick Rubin’
In a link first tweeted out yesterday, highly revered British producer Four Tet announced a series of details for his seventh studio album Beautiful Rewind, due out soon on his own Text Records. It'll be a simple release process, with no promotional or marketing trickery up his sleeve, and plenty of jabs to the Daft Punk or Kanye West mega-cycles of album hype as of late. He has also followed up with a full tracklisting (below) on his blog.
Nicolas Jaar starts new Other People label, ends work on Clown & Sunset
In a move that will serve to disband the Clown & Sunset label/art collective he has been working on since 2009, Nicolas Jaar will be launching a new label named Other People. Many of the members of the old label will join Jaar at Other People, so you'll still be seeing a lot of Will Epstein, Acid Pauli, Valentin Stip, and Nikita Quasim.
