Calvin Harris, Avicii and Disclosure nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Artist in Billboard Music Awards
Billboard's annual Music Awards have just announced the nominees for its 2015 ceremony. This year's list includes many of the usual suspects. Skrillex, Calvin Harris, Disclosure, Avicii, and Lindsey Stirling receive nominations for Top Dance/Electronic Album -- despite Settle's 2013 release date. This year's top electronic songs include Clean Bandit's "Rather Be," Disclosure's "Latch," DJ Snake and Lil Jon's "Turn Down for What,' Zedd's Ariana Grande collaboration "Break Free" and Calvin Harris's anthemic hit "Summer." The most prestigious of the awards, the Top Dance/Electronic Artist category, includes Avicii, Clean Bandit, Disclosure, Calvin Harris and electronic violinist sensation, Lindsey Stirling, in the list of potential winners.
DA Premiere: Galantis – Smile (Elgot Remix)
A collection of 12 cuts from Sunrise to Sunset, Ignition has a little something for everyone. Cuts from SAINT WKND, JoeySuki, Hot Since 82 and many more are sure to satisfy whatever dance music mood you find yourself in. The stand-out and final track on the EP comes at the hands of Elgot, the side project of Urban Cone frontman Rasmus Flyckt. Plenty of artists have remixed Galantis' breakout hit "Smile," but Elgot's rendition takes the track in an entirely new direction. Perfectly suited for the Sunset section of Ignition, Elgot's remix swings gently like Miami's seaside breeze. Crisp and cool piano rolls and steady melodic underpinnings prompt for repeat listens designed to soundtrack to South Beach's technicolor sunsets.
