Skrillex to release new music ‘sooner rather than later,’ expects to premiere at Reading and Leeds Festivals
Sonny Moore's solo moniker has been relatively silent. Since Bangarang's late 2011 release, Skrillex has tided us over with Leaving (an abridged EP to advance The Nest), preoccupied Dog Blood material, and promotional themes to G-Star Raw and Mishka. Hopefuls turned to his first studio Essential Mix, but were still left hankering for unheard originals. After Sonny's interview with Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 last night, it seems the wait will soon be over.
Fenech Soler – Last Forever (The Chainsmokers Remix) [Free Download]
The Chainsmokers latest output takes on the UK's Fenech Soler for an official remix of their upcoming single "Last Forever." Dubbed a future anthem by Zane Lowe, the NY-based duo continue on their indie dance trajectory, putting together their most finely-tuned track to date. Stretching the original's vocals to match their sugary-sweet chordplay, The Chainsmokers take "Last Forever" to the pinnacle of dance music highs, crashing top notch indie vocals into well-developed big room melodies and sweeping synthesizers. James Blake reveals ‘Retrograde’ off sophomore LP
James Blake has returned to the electronic music scene this week with a preview of the first track off his new album Overgrown to be released on April 8. Even before this track, "Retrograde," got its first play on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show yesterday, blogs were all in a tizzy about the impending track and its artist's sophomore LP.
Hadouken! – Levitate (Original Mix)
Premiered on Zane Lowe's BBC 1 radio show, Hadouken!'s latest electro-infused hard rock original "Levitate" is a thunderous arena-rock anthem. Similar to their last collaboration with Feed Me on "Trapdoor", Hadouken! matches lead singer James Smith's alt-rock vocal cuts with fierce electro house chops and powerful chordplay. Continuing in line with their dance-punk aesthetic, the British group is gearing up for the release of their 3rd studio album Every Weekend, scheduled to be released on February 18th via Surface Noise records.
