NGHTMRE – MTRD (Original Mix)
NGHTMRE joins the Circus for his most unique output to date. After two consecutive monsters alongside Slander, NGHTMRE goes solo for the vowel-averse "MTRD." Joining the ranks of Flux Pavilionsand Doctor P's Circus Records, the LA-based producer shapeshifts to fit the nom de plum of the heavy-hitting label. While his past outputs have proven his ability to tackle any genre, "MTRD" is the furthest he's stepped outside of his comfort zone since first catching momentum back in July. A highly textured intro and his always on point drum programming quickly descend into a robotic electro stutter session, complete with Dutch horn blares and mammoth electro saws. Juxtaposing sugary electro leads with a dub-friendly drop, NGHTMRE's latest is a big top mayhem maker in line with Circus's long history of heavy-handed electronica.
Flux Pavilion vibes on the best food in the world, his album plans and the death of dubstep
As one of the dominant forces in dubstep and a pioneer of the heaviest-hitting side of electronic music, Flux Pavilion has led the bass stampede alongside his partner-in-grime, Doctor P, and their Circus Records imprint. His recently released Freeway EP left a bass-induced crater in the dance music conversation. Is dubstep dead? Definitely not, but according to Flux it was never really alive. We sat down with the co-founder of Circus Records, Flux Pavilion for a Quicky Q&A session to pick the "Bass Cannon" producer's brain on the state of the industry, his upcoming album plans, the worst food in the world, and what he'd do on his last day on Earth.
Brown & Gammon – Dark Matter (Original Mix) [Free Download]
Alluding to the enigmatic cosmic phenomenon of dark matter, Brown & Gammon has crafted an engrossing celestial production beaming with starry synths and a figurative "keep looking" lyric. Though the Circus Records prodigy is well-known for his funky dubstep originals and remixes, "Dark Matter" is something entirely different. Smooth, glossy, and brandishing a distinct disco elegance, the track is a beautiful first foray into house.
