Marco Darko – One Night Stand (Original Mix)
Manchester's Marco Darko may not have many releases under his belt, but what he has shared with the dance music community is exciting to say the least. A fan of Hot Creations may recognize his name from the recent fourth volume of the Hot Waves Sampler and his solid "Computer Love" along with Mykel Haze. Back to offer his hand on another compilation of sorts, Sleazy Deep's Future Tease, Marco doesn't hold back.
Dillon – Thirteen Thirtyfive (Lee Foss & MK Remix)
Hot Creations boss Lee Foss teams up house legend MKto offer up a remix to Dillon’s “Thirteen Thirtyfive.” Dillon's original version lends beautifully lends itself to a more dance-friendly remake with Lee & MK's slabs of deeper nu-disco we've seen a lot in recent months. The enhancements make for a track full of gloomy chord sequences that are both edgy and bizarre.
Corey Baker – The Chase EP
Corey Baker is probably a name with which you're not yet familiar, but especially this time around we encourage you to give his latest and greatest, The Chase EP, a listen. Corey Baker is better known as a member of Wildkats, a UK-based trio who've released records on labels from Hot Creations to Get Physical to Akbal Music, but this is his first solo production and it's out this week on MEXA Records.
With Back in Flight School, Miguel Campbell reminds the dance music world why LPs still matter
Last year Leeds-based producer and DJ Miguel Campbell made his Hot Creations debut with the release of his hit single "Something Special." The track was discovered by Jamie Jones a year prior at Miami Music Week, and fully embodies the throwback deep house sound that Campbell has come to represent. With said release, his recent Essential Mix, and this Back In Flight School artist album, he is showing that he is not a one-track success, but more likely music producer that is pioneering a wave of inspirational sounds within the realms of the deep house craze. Read on to hear our take on this impressive album from the man himself.
Good Morning Mix – Lee Foss’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix (11/10/2012)
Lee Foss, one half of Hot Creations and one quarter of Hot Natured, debuted a stunning Essential Mix this past weekend on Radio 1. A native Chicagoan, Foss introduced the mix as a showcase of his history and upbringing, but also as a tribute to Ben Wilson, a promising high school basketball player whose sudden death sparked a social uprising during the urban crack heyday in 1984. The mix is dynamic and emotive, keeping both an eye on the past and the future much as Hot Creations' originals seem to do. The entire body of work is worth a dedicated listen, but we've also pulled out some of our highlights below.
Disclosure – Latch (Jamie Jones ‘Marzy’s House’ Remix)
Hot Creations label boss Jamie Jones takes a stab at Disclosure's "Latch" -- adding his funky groove to give it the proper rhythm it deserves. Jones' recreation is a deep disco cut centered around a gentle melody that offers a nice escape from the peek-time tracks we're used to hearing.
