Chicken Lips – He Not In (Groove Armada, Eats Everything + Noir Remixes)
We're very excited to learn that big names Groove Armada, Noir, and Eats Everything are coming out with remixes and reworks of the late 90s/early 00s disco-dub dance band Chicken Lips' huge hit, "He Not In." As we have come to expect with remix packages, the offerings from the three different producers/teams are diverse -- each offering a different take on the already bombastic original.
Noir releases two new exclusive remixes ahead of forthcoming compilation for Defected Records
Noir, the Danish tech house DJ probably most well-known for his massive club track "Around" from 2011, is gearing up to release his Noir In The House compilation on Defected Records in late January and in doing so has also shared two new exclusive remixes.
Petite Noir – Till We Ghosts (Remixes)
Meet Yannick Iluga aka Petite Noir, a 21-year-old producer/singer from Cape Town, South Africa. Now meet Mason and Disco of Doom, two up-and-coming production outfits who have been recently releasing massively inventive dance tracks on the UK-based Bad Life imprint. Petite's debut single "Till We Ghosts" is hauntingly beautiful, his melancholy voice wavering as he sings "I'm never going to be the same again." Mason's remix takes the deep approach, showcasing the vocals and encasing them within a swirling soundscape of understated percussion and deep throaty bass. Much more aggressive and industrial than Mason's remix, Disco of Doom lets the vocals take a backseat to techier sensibilities. Driven by chirpy synthwork and gritty bass, DoD's take is dark and ominous with a build and drop that will send you reeling.
