Knife Party bring out Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine to close out Ultra Music Festival [Video]
Closing out the main stage of Ultra for its final day is one of the greatest honors that can be bestowed upon an electronic performer. This year, that honor was doubly bestowed upon Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, who offered one of the weekend's most talked about sets by combining their massively successful Knife Party and Pendulum outfits into one spellbinding performance.
Knife Party reveal new album name ‘Abandon Ship,’ 9 out of 12 tracks completed
Just over a month ago Rob Swire announced that May would be "album-finishing month" and now, nearly 30 days later, Knife Party reveals not only their forthcoming album's name, but the number of tracks to be included on the hotly-anticipated full length. Dubbed Abandon Ship, the duo's return to the spotlight comes in the form of 12 tracks, with 9 already confirmed for the album and 5 in the maybe pile while 5 are still just ideas.
Take a sneak peek at Knife Party's new studio
Welcome to the new homebase of all future Knife Party and Pendulum productions. The recently renovated space by Munro Acoustics is now the official studio of Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen. After posting the photos last night on Twitter, numerous DJs expressed their awe and penis envy over the duo's new digs. Not yet loaded with their studio gear, the space still trumps the shitty IKEA desks most bedroom producer's call their "studio." While 2013 may have been a bit quiet (by Knife Party standards) for the pair, 2014, with a new Pendulum EP, new studio and new outlook will likely create another paradigm shift in the production outfit's studio lifecycle.
Pendulum plan new album for next year, Knife Party album to come before
After announcing their split in June of 2012, no one expected Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen to return to Pendulum anytime soon. The pair felt the electronic rock/drum and bass fusion had run it's course. With a year past, Rob took to twitter to make an electrifying broadcast - Pendulum is coming back.
