Solidisco release bootleg pack from Miami Music Week
Funky house phenoms Solidisco continue to push their dancefloor focused brand of EDM with the release of 5 VIP weapons. Fresh from the duo's own crates, the pair are giving away the edits they have been using in live sets (including their laundry list of appearances during this year's Miami Music Week). The pack includes their UMF edit of Will Smith's "Miami," a bootleg of Calvin Harris Outside with Chic's latest "Back In The Old School," a stunning edit of Galantis, an extremely unique pairing of "Pushing On" versus "ADD SUV" and a Magician vs The Killers cut that will have crowds moving in seconds flat.
Penguin Prison – Never Gets Old (Solidisco Remix)
Although summer is just around the corner, Solidisco have kept their winter warm with a handful of remixes and originals. The latest to appear from the pair arrives in the form of a Penguin Prison remix, in which the duo see their disco-tinged production capabilities resurfaced. A heavy-set bassline dances under a synth that ricochets back and forth and casts a groovy shadow over the original, all while bolstered by stiff claps. The first remix of 2015 for their pair, Solidisco have returned to their remixing roots after renditions of Marcus Schossow, Chromeo, and The Knocks during the last calender year.
DA Premiere: Solidisco & Fireflowerz – Unreal (Lefti Remix)
New York up-and-comer Alex Suarez dons his Lefti moniker for official remixes duties on the Solidisco and Fireflowerz "Unreal." A catchy, hyper-disco rework, Lefti's rendition puts the top line to great use when bolstered by a funk-fueled slap bass line. Solidisco and Fireflowerz original Mixmash release established itself in a similarly funky fashion, but leaned into punchy electro progressions to work its magic. Lefti takes the track in a different direction, sanding down the edges before he adds a sparkling top coat of disco-tinged production work.
