Dancing Astronaut presents Axis, Episode 043: Mixed by Shreddie Mercury
On a special Wednesday edition of Axis, Shreddie Mercury stops by to deliver a 30 minute minimix of both his own heavy electro mashups, original remixes and some of the hardest hitting tracks of the last few months. After winning Zedd's "Spectrum" remix contest, Shreddie put himself on the map as an up-and-coming complextro producer whose unique approach to blaring synthesis resulted in him once again being commissioned to remix the complextro kingpin on "Clarity." There is no shortage of style here, as Shreddie ignores any call for subtlety stuttering and chopping his way through 19 tracks of bone-rattling electro.
Good Morning Mix – Rudimental, Kidnap Kid & Gorgon City on Diplo & Friends (11/4/2012)
Takeovers on Diplo's Radio 1xtra show are always top quality electronic music, but this recent contribution from our friends over at Black Butter Records including the likes of foursome Rudimental, Kidnap Kid, and the new Gorgon City collab between Foamo and Rack 'N Ruin, absolutely knocked us out of our seats. The three guest mixes showcase the best of the three artists' work to date, some high-powered and glossy remixes, and even some older swagger from The Fugees, Shuggie Otis, and Michael Jackson. We love it, you'll love it too. Enjoy below and follow along with full tracklist.
Zedd showcases his talents at Electric Zoo 2012 despite a safe set list
With such an amazing lineup for Electric Zoo 2012, picking the must see artists was hard to do. When I first saw the lineup and noticed that Zedd was scheduled for Sunday afternoon, I quickly made the decision to see him. Despite his recent successes, Zedd is still underrated. Before "Spectrum," he had a ton of solid productions, many of which did not get the recognition they deserved ("Dovregrubben" anyone?) Although an avid fan, Sunday was my first time experiencing one of Zedd's sets live -- and I could not have been more impressed.
