Consisting of legendary producers MK and Lee Foss and acclaimed singer-songwriter Anabel Englund, Pleasure State is often (and understandably) referred to as dance music's current 'supergroup'.
House music's hedonistic super group is here, and they go by the name of Pleasure State.
Hot Natured preview debut album 'Different Sides of the Sun'
"Reverse Skydiving" and many of its remixes have been all over the airwaves in recent months and the full package is out this week on FFRR.
Robert James provides the latest remix for Hot Natured's "Reverse Skydiving."
As his dark and ominous alter ego, Shadow Child, Dave Spoon approaches Hot Natured's latest "Reverse Skydiving" with perilous intent. Shadow Child subtracts the bounce and deepens the mix besetting the track in a heavy fog of plunky percussion and chilling atmosphere. As it begins, Anabel's vocals tesselate and phase in the background echoing off into infinity as Shadow Child contorts the bass line into swirling gasps of white noise. Stuttering into a percussion-laden drop, atmospheric grime turns into a deep groove as synths shriek through the fog, leaving only Anabel's vocals recognizable in this hazy interpretation.
Hot Natured's follow up to "Benediction" has been the well received "Reverse Skydiving." Anabel Englund's voice worked wonders on Human Life's "Falling" and Lee Foss' "Eletricity," and has laid the foundation for a stellar remix package on the "Reverse Skydiving" release. First up to bat is Swiss producing mastermind Deetron, who constructs an offering laden with piercing piano strings and a tumultuous bassline.
