Bonnaroo announces its 2013 lineup featuring A-Trak, Boys Noize, Wolfgang Gartner and more
The 2013 lineup for the infamous Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee has been announced and will feature a host of electronic artists including A-Trak, Boys Noize, Wolfgang Gartner, and Pretty Lights. In total, 2013's cast of producers will nearly double from the five in 2012. From Porter Robinson to Four Tet, or Araabmuzik to Paper Diamond, Coachella's less flashy cousin continues to welcome in the entire spectrum of electronica, pitting some of the genre's top producers right alongside legendary bands like Tom Petty, Radiohead and the Beach Boys.
Kavinsky – Protovision (Boys Noize Remix)
As if Kavinsky's latest release "Protovision" wasn't impressive enough, Alex Ridha warps the orchestral chord work of the original with scratchy synthesis and dark grinding techno, ripping huge chasms into the track's grandiose composition. This is Boys Noize at his best, no gimmicks, no Snoop Dogg, just unfettered electro with pulsing percussion, shuffling bass lines, and filter heavy grit. Look for this remix to be released alongside more from STS, Sebastian Teller, and Blood Orange on the Protovision EP scheduled to be released on February 25th.
Rammstein – Mein Herz Brennt (Boys Noize Remix)
German industrial band Rammstein are best known for their heavy metal aesthetic, a suitable style for Alex Ridha's techno prowess to mutate into an electro-infused monster. On his remix of "Mein Herz Brennt," Boys Noize maintains the original's aggressive style, supplementing it with industrial tones and gritty synthesis. The combination of lead singer Till Lindemann's growling vocals and Boys Noize's dark and ominous synthwork serve to create a track that is nothing short of terrifying.
