Mat Zo returns to drum-and-bass roots with two hour mix
Today we largely associate Mat Zo with his brilliant trance and progressive house productions, but as some of his more devoted fans may know, he's also produced a handful of drum-and-bass tracks under the moniker MRSA (you can listen to them here if you're curious). Zo surprised fans a few hours ago with a two hour drum-and-bass mix on his Soundcloud page and although we don't have a tracklist to share with you quite yet we can assure you that if you like that slower BPM, breaks, and melodic bass music -- this is the mix for you.
Porter Robinson & Mat Zo – Easy (Original Mix) [Preview]
In a bit of a dream team scenario, Porter Robinson & Mat Zo have exposed the first preview of their new collaboration, entitled "Easy." Pete Tong got the first play on this one last Friday on BBC Radio 1, but we also noticed Mat Zo played an extended version during his TATW 450 set over the weekend in Bangalore. Is this the tune of 2012? Maybe, maybe not. We can, however, confirm from the two minute clip here that "Easy" is a well-produced, feel good, and universally catchy track. We don't have specific details on the release, but sounds like it will be out on Ministry of Sound around the first of year.
Watch this: Lagori’s acoustic cover of ‘Sun and Moon’ ahead of A&B’s #TATW450 in Bangalore this Saturday
If there's one thing I know, it is that Above & Beyond has some stellar videographers working for them. As a trailer for their 450th and final Trance Around The World and first Above & Beyond Group Therapy shows, the team released a visually stunning trailer showcasing a cute acoustic cover by Lagori of their megahit, "Sun and Moon." The show airs live this Saturday evening and will broadcast sets from Jody Wisternoff, Andrew Bayer, Norin & Rad, Mat Zo, and Above & Beyond in a marathon six hour event. Mat Zo makes New York nightclub debut at Santos Party House next weekend
Mat Zo is making his New York nightclub debut next Saturday, October 6th, at Santos Party House. The party is a one year celebration of the Electric Beach Party at Santos, and will be a nice departure from the typical progressive stylings of the club.
