The talented producer took home the trophy for Artist of the Year at the Woodies award ceremony held during SXSW last night. Beating out Charli XCX, Sam Smith, and FKA Twigs, Porter accompanied his win with an unannounced DJ set at the Mad Decent showcase following the show. Porter Robinson nominated for Artist of the Year at the MTVu Woodies
Producer-auteur, Porter Robinson, had an impressive 2014. An ambitious album, an even more ambitious tour, Robinson's past 12 months have been highlight reel worthy. Although The Grammys failed to acknowledge Porter or his paradigm-shifting 'Worlds,' MTV's Woodies has given the young producer a proper nod as one of the year's best artists. Porter is in contention an eclectic and star-studded roster of talent that includes J. Cole, Sam Smith, Charli XCX, Run the Jewels, and FKA Twigs.
