The Grammys announce 2013 nominees, Diplo receives Producer of the Year nod
Dance music's presence in last year's Grammy awards was undeniable, marking the first time a DJ had been nominated for the Best New Artist category. The DJs and producers who were big in our world had finally crossed over into mainstream relevance by way of Skrillex's five nominations and three wins. Although there doesn't seem to be any milestone entries this year, Diplo's nomination for Best Producer is an accolade that is long overdue. Only three highly-recognizable dance music artists were nominated in 2012, but this time around there's a much healthier selection. But does anyone know who the hell Al Walser is? or did we just get trolled by the Grammys?

As if Kaskade and Tiesto back to back nights wasn't enough to solidify HQ Nightclub's dominance of the Northeast's EDM explosion, the brand new nightclub has just added Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, Alesso and Otto Knows to the days leading up to the ball drop. Thursday, December 27th will feature Sebastian Ingrosso kicking off the weekend festivities, followed by Axwell on Friday, December 28th and Alesso and Otto Knows on Saturday. Boasting an unprecedented lineup for the days leading up to 2013, HQ and Revel have established themselves as the premiere hotspot for dance music in Atlantic City.

Axwell came to Electric Zoo with a set that was far different from the normal Swedish House Mafia fare. While he of course relied on a smattering of established favorites to keep the crowd engaged, he also brought out lots of new bootlegs and ID tracks to open our ears to new music.
