Good Morning Mix: Funk D’Void’s Balance 22
Starting his career in Glasgow in 1995 on the Slam imprint, Lars Sandberg, the DJ now known as Funk D'Void has forged his career path amidst driving techno, artful melodies and scintillating chord stabs. The goal for his Balance compilation was to maintain the integrity of the series, shying away from the trendy sounds of now to create a timeless 2 disc compilation that ebbs and flows effortlessly in a cascade of melodic techno and deep house cuts. On Disc 1, Funk represents the Detroit scene with tracks from Monty Luke and Los Hermanos, while Disc 2 provides listeners with an ambient selection of sun-kissed tracks, including an exclusive from Sensation NYC bound Joris Voorn as well as a stunning re-imagining of Joash's "Assassin." Consider this a trip through the deep crates of tracks that Sandberg has curated since his start nearly two decades ago. Eclectic, timeless and diverse, Balance 22 feels right at home amongst the rest of the series and provides an impressive view of the scope of Funk D'Void's musical palette.
