DA’s Best of the Rest: Tuesday July 17, 2012
It is almost impossible to keep up with the constant influx of new music that hits our inboxes here at Dancing Astronaut but that doesn't mean we won't try our best to keep our loyal readers on the pulse of everything dance music related. There were two huge event announcements today from Goldenvoice and Insomniac, a unique remix of an indie classic from Robbie Rivera, a making of video featuring two of the most beautiful women in dance music today, some nu-disco gems and a radio show from none other than Thomas Gold. Read on after the break for the Best of the Rest from Tuesday, July 17th 2012.
DA’s Best of the Rest: Tuesday July 10th, 2012
There's a lot of news happening in the world of dance music -- sometimes more than we can post -- but that's why we're bringing you the Best of the Rest. Today we've got free downloads from Blende and Filo and Peri, a new album from Steve Aoki, more Tiesto tour dates, and of course, more new music.
Lana Del Rey – Video Games (Adrian Lux & Blende Remix)
Adrian Lux and Blende team up to create one of the best remixes of this young stunner's stand out track "Video Games" (and there have been many.) Lux's melodic sensibilities paired with Blende's electro-disco style are a match made in audio heaven. With arpeggios as silky smooth as Lana's voice and a grinding electro breakdown with some serious bump, this track is a must grab.
1.21 gigawatts! Blende goes back to the 80’s and releases Blende Edits Volume 1
If this is the first time you are hearing about Blende, then we apologize - his disco house gems have been floating around our harddrives and inboxes for months now. Thankfully, this London-based producer has released 4 of his remixes in a convenient little package - all available for free. If there was a time to hop on the disco house bandwagon, now would be it. Blende takes four 80's classics and infuses them with a nu-disco groove, updating them for the ears of the EDM generation.
